Komodo Island is located in the Sunda Archipelago between the Flores and Savu Seas in Indonesia. If the name of this island means something to you, it is certainly because it owes its fame to the population it shelters, namely the Komodo dragon (or giant monitor lizard). In addition, this island offers its visitors breathtaking panoramas. Let yourself be guided through this heavenly destination and its surroundings ideal for honeymoons, but also for trips with family or friends.

Why is Komodo Island a rare pearl?
If tourism is developing more and more on Komodo Island, it is not for nothing. It is a true natural pearl where it is possible to discover things not seen anywhere else. This little piece of rock in the middle of the sea resembles a real little paradise.
Within the Komodo National Park
Komodo Island is located within the natural park of the same name. Created in 1980, it was classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site nine years later. The establishment of these elements aims to protect the Komodo dragons, but also many other species, many of which are marine. Also, it helps limit the damage related to mass tourism and preserve this unique ecosystem in the world.

Encountering exceptional animals
It would be unfortunate to visit Komodo Island without seeing at least one giant monitor lizard. Upon arriving on the island, you must register with the rangers. From there, they will accompany you on a trek of varying lengths where they will teach you many things about the fauna, flora, and culture of Komodo. In addition to the famous Komodo dragons, it is possible to observe large mammals and many birds. Don’t leave the island without trying to swim with manta rays among many other marine species during a snorkeling session.
Note that it is also possible to observe this animal species on the island of Rinca, located not far from Komodo. There, you can take a small hike supervised by armed rangers for your safety.

Pink Beach
As its name suggests, Pink Beach is a pink beach located in the northeastern part of Komodo Island. Few beaches have colors as beautiful as those of Pink Beach. To get there, you can choose between a hike of about 4 hours or disembark directly on the sand. Once there, you can admire the beauty of the landscapes or simply relax in this magnificent setting.

Unfortunately, the increase in tourism to this place has greatly impacted its appearance. A lot of trash has popped up year after year as seen by influencer couple Marie and Jake. If you want to venture there yourself, make sure to travel eco-responsibly so that this magnificent place will always be as radiant for future generations.
