small update of this article that I wrote while I was in quarantine in Jordan in 2020. I know that everyone is longing for summer, traveling, getting away and fresh air, so I decided to share with you some pictures of the sea, nature, flowers and mountains from my trip to Cyprus.

Take a look at the photos and enjoy the beautiful views… Hang in there, everyone!
The Mountain Villages of Cyprus

During our trip to Cyprus, we rented a car to easily move between cities. The views of the mountains, greenery, and nature are extraordinary, and the mountain villages are quiet, relaxing, and charming.
We stumbled upon this waterfall while driving from the Troodos Mountains to a neighboring village.

The City of Limassol
Limassol is the second-largest city in Cyprus, located on the island’s southern coast. It is known for its vibrant cosmopolitan atmosphere, rich cultural heritage, and beautiful beaches. Limassol serves as one of the island’s main commercial hubs, especially for international shipping, making it a significant port city.
The city’s history dates back to ancient times, and it is famous for its medieval Limassol Castle, where Richard the Lionheart is said to have married Berengaria of Navarre in 1191. Limassol has undergone modern development, and the city’s Marina and seafront promenade (Molos) are popular spots, featuring luxury apartments, shops, and restaurants with a view of the Mediterranean Sea.
Limassol is also known for its annual festivals, including the Limassol Carnival and the Wine Festival, reflecting its lively cultural scene. The city’s location makes it a prime destination for both beach lovers and history enthusiasts, with archaeological sites like Amathus and Kourion nearby, offering a blend of ancient ruins and modern urban life.

Limassol is one of my favorite cities that we visited in Cyprus. The city is vibrant and all along the sea, and you can find a nice beach every few feet to swim in!

The City of Paphos
Paphos is a city located on the southwest coast of Cyprus, known for its rich history, stunning landscapes, and archaeological sites. It is often associated with ancient Greek mythology as the birthplace of Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. The city is divided into two parts: Kato Paphos, the lower part near the coast, home to historic ruins, including the famous Paphos Archaeological Park and its mosaics; and Ktima Paphos, the upper part, offering a more modern experience with shops, restaurants, and local life.
Paphos has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its significant cultural and historical landmarks, such as the Tombs of the Kings and the Byzantine-era Paphos Castle. It’s also a popular tourist destination, offering beautiful beaches, nature trails, and a vibrant cultural scene.

The City of Ayia Napa
Ayia Napa is a popular coastal resort town located on the southeastern coast of Cyprus, renowned for its vibrant nightlife, beautiful beaches, and relaxed holiday atmosphere. Once a small fishing village, Ayia Napa has transformed into one of the island’s most famous tourist destinations, attracting visitors from around the world.

The town is particularly known for its pristine beaches, such as Nissi Beach, Makronissos Beach, and Konnos Bay, all offering crystal-clear waters and golden sands. These beaches are perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and water sports like jet skiing, windsurfing, and parasailing.
Beyond its beaches and party scene, Ayia Napa also offers cultural and historical sites, such as the Ayia Napa Monastery, which dates back to the Venetian period. The town also features the Thalassa Museum, dedicated to the sea’s influence on Cypriot history, and Cape Greco National Forest Park, a protected area with stunning cliffs, caves, and hiking trails.
While it’s widely regarded as a top nightlife destination, attracting partygoers with its clubs, bars, and music events, Ayia Napa also caters to families and those seeking a more laid-back holiday experience. The town has become synonymous with summer fun, relaxation, and a blend of history and modern entertainment.

The City of Larnaca
Larnaca is a historic city on the southern coast of Cyprus, known for its mix of ancient landmarks, charming seafront, and relaxed atmosphere. It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities on the island, with a history dating back more than 6,000 years. Today, Larnaca offers a blend of cultural heritage, modern amenities, and beautiful natural surroundings.

One of the city’s most iconic features is the Finikoudes Promenade, a palm-lined seafront that is popular for leisurely strolls, with cafés, restaurants, and shops offering views of the Mediterranean. Larnaca’s beaches, such as Finikoudes Beach and Mackenzie Beach, attract both locals and tourists with their calm waters and soft sands.
Historically, Larnaca is home to the Church of Saint Lazarus, a stunning Byzantine-era church where the biblical figure Lazarus is said to have been buried after his resurrection by Jesus. Other notable sites include the Larnaca Salt Lake, which hosts flocks of flamingos during winter, and the Hala Sultan Tekke, an important Muslim pilgrimage site.

Larnaca also has a lively nightlife and dining scene, blending traditional Cypriot culture with modern entertainment. The city’s proximity to Larnaca International Airport makes it a gateway for many visitors to Cyprus, offering a more laid-back alternative to the bustling cities of Limassol or Nicosia.

I wish you sweet days and all the best. Stay safe❤️
